Quick copypasta of what I wrote to someone last night:
"""
LURK uses mailman3, which is unfortunately a bit beta quality, and there
are 2 current bugs. One prevents access to the email moderation page and
the other prevent settings correctly the attachment size, which is the
main reason for emails to fail generally as the default setting is 40K,
which is super small.
These things have been fixed upstream, but I'm a bit hesitant to install
the development version, when I see how stable the stable version is...
So I'm hoping that the new release is out soon!
In the meantime, there is a way to manipulate list via a custom Python
scripts, but had not time yet to look into it, was planning to do that
this week, to at least bump the attachment limits of all the list.
Really sorry about the inconvenience, it was completely unexpected that
this would happen. I hope this gets fixed soon, this is also driving me
a bit mad...
"""
With that said, I see a lot of emails being bounced because they are
sent by email adresses that are not sibscribed to the list or that put
the list email address in BCC. These two things are spam techniques and
will never go through even when the two points above are solved.

hi everyone,
I am seeing a lot of emails, not making it to the list, due to
* having attachments (even small ones in footer).
* having the emails sent from addresses that are not members of the list.
I think that ATM Aymeric is working on allowing the approval of emails
by list admins, in the lurk web interface. Yet currently it is not possible.
So, in a nutshell dont add attachments to emails sent to the list.
Cheers
