Issues booting tidal on mac!!
by Auguste Oldham
Hi,
I have recently attempted to boot tidal cycles after not using it for some time, I have reinstalled supercollider, atom, superdirt and tidals but keep encountering this error:
: error: Could not find module ‘Sound.Tidal.Context’ Perhaps you haven't installed the "dyn" libraries for package ‘tidal-0.9.4’? Use -v to see a list of the files searched for.
It has booted superdirt in supercollider fine and says that it is now listening to tidal. I have attempted to reinstall cabal libraries in terminal as it was suggested on one of the threads i was reading but this error has come up:
Downloading the latest package list from hackage.haskell.org
Warning: --root-cmd is no longer supported, see
https://github.com/haskell/cabal/issues/3353 (if you didn't type --root-cmd,
comment out root-cmd in your ~/.cabal/config file)

Sync-ing Among Musicians
by Ben Grange
Hi,
In terms of playing live with other performers, I think it would be ideal
to be able to start tidal at a certain tempo, as detected by, say, finger
taps on the trackpad. If this doesn't already exist, it could be a nice
little project for someone to tackle.
(Of course, ideally, I would just start the performance and then the
guitarist would follow but sometimes s**t happens! :-) Or consider two
tidal performers. How could they be synch-ed with a "master" clock?)
Best,
Ben

How can I extend and shorten some notes when using up?
by Leo Treasure
For example for the melody - "These are a few of my favourite things" in the Sound of Music:
d2 $ fast 2 $ sound "feelfx" # up "<0 7 0 2 0 0 -5 0 0 2 0 ~ >" # gain "0.7" #legato "0.5" # unit "r"
I'd like to make the notes 7, 2, -5 and 2 longer while making the other notes shorter.

How can I use seqPLoop with more than one dirt channel?
by Leo Treasure
I'm trying to do it so they all play simultaneously with only one evaluation.
d1 $ (pure now) ~> seqPLoop [
(0, 12, sound "bd bd*2"),
(4, 12, sound "hh*2 [sn cp] cp future*4"),
(8, 12, sound (samples "arpy*8" (run 16)))
]
d2 $ (pure now) ~> seqPLoop [
(0, 12, sound "arpy*4"),
(4, 12, sound "hh*8 [sn*2 cp] cp future*2"),
(8, 12, sound (samples "arpy*8" (run 8)))
]

HELP! Can't install troop on linux machines
by Thomas Desai
Hi,
I am trying to install troop on some linux machines for an intro workshop on tidal this afternoon, so that it can be routed collaboratively through my computer, reducing need for repetitive installs etc.
However I am getting this error every time I try:

import tkinter as Tk
ImportError: No module named tkinter
Does anyone know a way to resolve this? Entirely delete tkinter from each mention in a text editor?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Peertube instance for live-coding?
by Thaega
Hi all,
I don't know if you've heard of the Peertube project, which is a libre
and decentralized alternative to Youtube.
I had the idea to launch an instance dedicated to live-coding, and I
wanted to know if some people would be interested in using it.
My main concern is that once I've chosen the domain name, I can't go
back and change it unless I start a new instance, so I can't just launch
the service using a subdomain of mine and change to something better
afterwards. Thus, I'd like to know if people other than me would use it,
so that it would be worth investing in a proper domain name.
I was thinking about names like algorave.tube (but it's 40€ a year, so
it needs to be worth it), or algoravetu.be (only 14€, but slightly less
cool), but I'm totally open to suggestions!
You can read more about the Peetube project here :
